Hi there @MNiceGuy, firstly I am impressed with the 4100mhz all core you get with the 3900X running default, My reason for saying this is that at default, which I do not actually run my all core boost is just about 4.0 ghz.Now going back to your voltages, what you could do is to manually overclock your cpu to 4.1 ghz and see how low you can go with the vcore before it fails. It does support 3900x cpu in specifications. My goal is to let people know they're broadly wasting their time, and should instead focus their tweaking efforts somewhere else. My cpu voltage is set on auto, I read about it and it seems to be okay and in Ryzen Master it doesnt show as 1.4 anyway. This is normal behavior. I know people said 1.325v is the safe limit, but is it fine to go above the safe limit by a little, like 1.332v? just started happening all the sudden. This is conjecture by some random person on the internet for 24/7 overclocks. Just a quick video of some of the issues that I faced when doing this build. Its suprising how little voltage is needed to run a stable all core@4.3 with the 3900X. CASE - XPG BATTLECRUISER. Do i just turn down the Vcore? In this case, the water does not reach 40 … The clock speed hangs >4 MHz and doesn't go down. Jumps to 95 degrees INSTANTLY under load. .Rd5g7JmL4Fdk-aZi1-U_V{transition:all .1s linear 0s}._2TMXtA984ePtHXMkOpHNQm{font-size:16px;font-weight:500;line-height:20px;margin-bottom:4px}.CneW1mCG4WJXxJbZl5tzH{border-top:1px solid var(--newRedditTheme-line);margin-top:16px;padding-top:16px}._11ARF4IQO4h3HeKPpPg0xb{transition:all .1s linear 0s;display:none;fill:var(--newCommunityTheme-button);height:16px;width:16px;vertical-align:middle;margin-bottom:2px;margin-left:4px;cursor:pointer}._1I3N-uBrbZH-ywcmCnwv_B:hover ._11ARF4IQO4h3HeKPpPg0xb{display:inline-block}._2IvhQwkgv_7K0Q3R0695Cs{border-radius:4px;border:1px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-line)}._2IvhQwkgv_7K0Q3R0695Cs:focus{outline:none}._1I3N-uBrbZH-ywcmCnwv_B{transition:all .1s linear 0s;border-radius:4px;border:1px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-line)}._1I3N-uBrbZH-ywcmCnwv_B:focus{outline:none}._1I3N-uBrbZH-ywcmCnwv_B.IeceazVNz_gGZfKXub0ak,._1I3N-uBrbZH-ywcmCnwv_B:hover{border:1px solid var(--newCommunityTheme-button)}._35hmSCjPO8OEezK36eUXpk._35hmSCjPO8OEezK36eUXpk._35hmSCjPO8OEezK36eUXpk{margin-top:25px;left:-9px}._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP,._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP:focus-within,._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP._3aEIeAgUy9VfJyRPljMNJP:hover{transition:all .1s linear 0s;border:none;padding:8px 8px 0}._25yWxLGH4C6j26OKFx8kD5{display:inline}._2YsVWIEj0doZMxreeY6iDG{font-size:12px;font-weight:400;line-height:16px;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaText);display:-ms-flexbox;display:flex;padding:4px 6px}._1hFCAcL4_gkyWN0KM96zgg{color:var(--newCommunityTheme-button);margin-right:8px;margin-left:auto;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-errorText)}._1hFCAcL4_gkyWN0KM96zgg,._1dF0IdghIrnqkJiUxfswxd{font-size:12px;font-weight:700;line-height:16px;cursor:pointer;-ms-flex-item-align:end;align-self:flex-end;-webkit-user-select:none;-ms-user-select:none;user-select:none}._1dF0IdghIrnqkJiUxfswxd{color:var(--newCommunityTheme-button)}._3VGrhUu842I3acqBMCoSAq{font-weight:700;color:#ff4500;text-transform:uppercase;margin-right:4px}._3VGrhUu842I3acqBMCoSAq,.edyFgPHILhf5OLH2vk-tk{font-size:12px;line-height:16px}.edyFgPHILhf5OLH2vk-tk{font-weight:400;-ms-flex-preferred-size:100%;flex-basis:100%;margin-bottom:4px;color:var(--newCommunityTheme-metaText)}._19lMIGqzfTPVY3ssqTiZSX._19lMIGqzfTPVY3ssqTiZSX._19lMIGqzfTPVY3ssqTiZSX{margin-top:6px}._19lMIGqzfTPVY3ssqTiZSX._19lMIGqzfTPVY3ssqTiZSX._19lMIGqzfTPVY3ssqTiZSX._3MAHaXXXXi9Xrmc_oMPTdP{margin-top:4px} How changing the case fans helped calming the temps more: https://youtu.be/fFuqA_q20rUHere I did a variety of tests on the Ryzen 3900X build. btw why you are using 3200 DDR4 at 3000 ? I recommend using hwinfo to monitor svi2tfn reported voltage, it's more accurate than Ryzen Master, which reads only VID and even then it's only an average reported number. ._3-SW6hQX6gXK9G4FM74obr{display:inline-block;vertical-align:text-bottom;width:16px;height:16px;font-size:16px;line-height:16px} Users who see random boost up to 1.5V should **not go set a static core voltage in response. Can not stop Ryzen 3900X Voltage/Fan spikes Hello, I've just upgraded to a new setup with Ryzen 3900X, and so far my performance is very disappointing as I've spent so much money (and time) on a computer I literally can not sit next to, because it sounds like someone keeps turning vacuum cleaner on and off repeatedly, despite going with a quiet Noctua cooler. The worst case scenario is the CPU asserting PROCHOT and the CPU will throttle to really low frequency (in the <=MHz range) to prevent permanent damage to your CPU. You will see anything in this range at the desktop. Perfect contact, new paste... running at 60 degrees while streaming and recording. It doesn't matter what i set in BIOS, the cpu is changing vcore voltage on its own (hwmonitor testing and ryzen master) Has it failed before? The voltage everyone is throwing around isn't "safe" to begin with. WELL it appears ive been running a 3900x with like 20% coverage with the cooling block for the last 6 months. tbh you made the better choice with the noctua cooler, i never liked water cooling because of the extra things that can go wrong and the fact that unless you go "all in" with custom loop the benefit is negligible. I would lower your offset a little bit ( maybe at -0.0725 V) because in my opinion you are slightly reducing performance with -0.1 V, but don’t worry about voltage. Let me repeat for anyone who might read this in the future: voltages of 0.200V to 1.500V is normal for Ryzen. It could do 5 minutes of CB20 below 1.2v using a 240mm AIO. The first is the high idle voltage, while idling the voltages do not drop below 1.38v, ranging from 1.44v to 1.38v, although I have to say that this is caused by the iCue software. There is no guesswork involved when it comes to something as essential, as determining the default silicon characteristic specific voltage-frequency curve of a CPU. One of those points of education is that undervolting is not helpful and beneficial for Ryzen, because the only possible outcome is reduced performance. I'm currently making my first attempt at overclocking with this chip since I have the time and would like to know what is a good starting place.
